The Incredible Shrinking Raymond

I came to Korea with the idea of losing weight. I arrived here in early September and it was hot. Nicole showed me around to all the hangouts for foreigners and they were wearing clothes fit for the warm weather. I stunned by the bigness of the people. I thought everyone would be rail thin, but I was wrong.

Most of the foreigners here are overweight. I haven't met a girl who has lost weight, and most of the guys say they lose weight their first month or two then gain it all back in the next month or two. I have not followed my fellow foreigners. I came to Korea at a not so svelte 116kgs (that's kilograms to all you filthy Americans) and now I'm down to a measly 89.5 kgs.

You might be asking yourself, "So what?" or "What does 26.5 kgs equate to in a meaningful unit of measurement?" Well, let me first tell you how I lost 26.5 kgs. I came to Korea, and as you know, I was out-eaten by everyone. I lost 15 lbs my first month. I worked on expanding my stomach, but I still lost another 15 lbs my second month. I stopped weighing myself after that because I figured I wasn't going to lose anymore than 30 lbs. My stomach expanded and I can now proudly out-eat everyone again. I was wrong. At the five month mark I weighed myself again and I found out that I had lost another 30 pounds in the previous three months.

I have gone from 255 lbs to 196lbs. Here is a picture of me in a pair of pants that were tight on me when I came here. They have a waist of 42 inches. Now I am wearing 36 in. and they are falling off of me.
For those of you that want to also lose 60 lbs in 5 months here's how you do it:
-Eat rice, seaweed, kimchi for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
-Drink water.
-Repeat daily.

I have some people scared. Last night my coworkers and I went out to eat pizza. The pizza had enough slices for everyone to have two. Two of my coworkers told me they weren't really hungry so they wanted me to eat their slices. I knew they were lying because they can eat like champs. I'm glad they did, I got four slices of pie.

I can also do amazing things now. I can run. It turns out I wasn't out of shape. I went running two months ago, after not running for about three years, and I felt like I could've run for days. At 255 lbs, it was like I was running with Labrador retriever strapped to my stomach. I did some push-ups tonight and I got bored before I got tired. I was bored at 8 so I don't know if that means much, but I'm usually tired at 3. When I come back to the States look out Atkins and South Beach, because here comes the Special-K.

Have you ever thought of making commericals for Korea...kind of like how Jared does for Subway. You could make a lot of money that way. Think about it.
