Just when I thought it couldn't get worse...
...it does.
I thought I messed up some teacher-student relationships with Bingo, but I had no idea of my ability for destruction.
Whenever I tell this one particular class to line up to leave there is a mad dash to the door. The result is a ten kid pile-up, a loud smash into the door, and at least one kid crying. Sometimes I have been surprised that the door has stayed on its hinges. I came up with the brilliant idea of playing a game where kids are eliminated one-by-one and that will determine the order of lining up. The first time I did it the kids at the back of the line all began to cry, because not only did they lose first, but they would have to leave last.
The second time I did it, I let the losers line up to leave first. However, it ended up that most of the kids that at the back of the line the first time where also at the back the second time. There were many more tears. I heard some, "Hate teacher" and "Sagi (Korean for cheater) teacher." I tried my best to explain to the kids that the time from the first kid leaving to the last kid leaving is about 4 seconds. They didn't understand.
The next day a student from that class came up to me and said, "Teacher. The game yesterday was very unfair. You need to change it." His English is very good. Some of the other students wouldn't even look at me. I have to teach that class again today, and I am dreading the lining up process.

Set up a rotation schedule where each day they get one spot closer to the front of the room. And then when they get to the front they go to the end of the line and start the process all over again.
Do something quick because I can't have these kids calling you a Sagi. It's kind of like they are indirectly calling the entire Carr family a bunch of Sagi's, and I can't have people in the States think that I'm a Sagi.
